One of my biggest issues with standard yoga mats is simple:
They are often too short.
I am 6 feet tall, and when I stretch on a normal mat, I often end up with part of my body hanging off the edge.
That is why the WUWAN 10mm TPE Yoga Mat caught my attention.
At roughly 76 inches long and 28 inches wide, it gives me significantly more room than the typical mat, and the extra thickness makes it especially comfortable for stretching on hard floors.
Why the Size Matters
For me, the 76-inch length is the biggest selling point.
I can lie down fully and still have mat underneath my entire body.
That makes a big difference when doing:
- morning stretches
- mobility work
- floor exercises
- yoga
- bodyweight movements
If you are taller or simply prefer more space around you, the larger footprint immediately feels more comfortable.
10mm Thickness
The mat is also 10mm thick, which is noticeably more padded than thinner yoga mats.
That is useful if you exercise on:
- hardwood
- tile
- concrete
- other firm flooring
I stretch every morning on a hard floor, so having extra cushioning under my knees, elbows, back, and hips is one of the reasons this mat works so well for me.
It feels soft without feeling completely unstable.
Comfortable for Stretching
My primary use is not advanced yoga.
I use it mostly for stretching and mobility work in the morning.
For that purpose, the extra padding is excellent.
I can spend more time on the floor without feeling like pressure points are digging directly into a hard surface.
For anyone using a mat mainly for stretching, mobility, meditation, or general floor exercises, that extra cushioning may actually be more useful than having an ultra-thin performance yoga mat.
Non-Slip Surface
The top has a textured surface, while the underside is designed to grip the floor.
In my use, it stays in place well while stretching and moving around.
That is especially important with a larger mat because you do not want it sliding underneath you during more active movements.
Extra Width
The mat is also about 28 inches wide, which gives you more lateral room than many standard mats.
That extra space is useful if:
- you have a larger frame
- you move around during stretches
- you want more room for floor exercises
- you simply dislike feeling confined to a narrow mat
Combined with the longer length, it feels noticeably more spacious.
Easy to Roll Up
Despite the extra thickness, the mat still rolls up easily.
It includes a carrying strap, which makes it easier to keep rolled together and transport.
That said, because it is both larger and thicker, it is naturally bulkier than a thin travel mat.
That is the main tradeoff.
Portability
You can definitely move it around, take it to the gym, or throw it in the car.
But if your priority is having the smallest and lightest possible yoga mat for air travel or minimalist packing, this probably is not the best choice.
The extra comfort comes with extra volume.
For home use, that does not bother me at all.
What I Like
The biggest positives for me are:
- 76-inch length
- works well for taller users
- approximately 28-inch width
- 10mm cushioning
- comfortable on hard floors
- textured top
- non-slip bottom
- easy to roll
- carrying strap included
The size and thickness are really what separate it from a more basic mat.
What I Don’t Like
The only downside for me is the bulk.
It rolls up nicely, but because it is thick and large, the rolled mat takes up more space.
That is a reasonable tradeoff for the extra comfort, but it is worth knowing if storage or travel space is limited.
Who This Is For
This is a good fit for:
- taller users
- people who want a larger mat
- anyone exercising on hard floors
- users who want more knee and elbow cushioning
- home workout users
- people doing stretching or mobility work
- yoga and Pilates users who prefer thicker mats
Who Should Skip It
You may want something else if:
- compact travel size is your priority
- you want the thinnest possible mat
- you have very limited storage space
- you prefer a firmer, minimal-cushion yoga surface
This is much more about comfort and space than ultralight portability.
My Real-World Use
I stretch every morning, usually on a hard floor.
That makes the extra thickness and length genuinely useful rather than just specifications on a product page.
At 6 feet tall, I can fully stretch out without having part of my body on the floor, and the cushioning makes longer stretching sessions much more comfortable.
That is exactly what I wanted from the mat.
Final Verdict
The WUWAN 10mm TPE Yoga Mat is a strong choice for anyone who finds traditional mats too short or too thin.
The extra length gives taller users better coverage, and the 10mm padding makes floor work considerably more comfortable.
It is bulkier than a thin travel mat, but that is the tradeoff for the added size and cushioning.
My verdict: a very good home workout and stretching mat for taller users or anyone who wants more comfort on hard floors.
